Plan your OSRS quest progression

Old School RuneScape has hundreds of quests, and the order matters — later quests need earlier ones and specific skill levels. ScapePath organises all 182 around progression and unlock value, not as a flat database: the optimal order with Wiki-verified requirements and what each quest opens up. Sign in and it tracks your completion, checks requirements against your stats, and points you at the ones you're ready for.

How ScapePath plans your quests

Optimal order is more than a checklist. It works because requirements overlap: doing quests in the right sequence means you meet later prerequisites naturally and rarely backtrack to grind a skill you could have levelled along the way. The order comes from the OSRS Wiki's Optimal Quest Guide.

Unlock value matters most. Some quests are worth doing early not for their reward screen but for what they open up — new areas, transport, bosses, skilling methods, equipment and further quests. ScapePath links each quest to the bosses, gear and skills it unlocks.

The order is a baseline. It's the safe default, but your goals can justify deviating — rushing a quest that unlocks the boss or transport you want next is often the right call. Use the list as a roadmap, not a rulebook.

Make it personal. Sign in and link your RuneScape name and ScapePath compares your completed quests against the path, checks each quest's requirements against your live stats, and highlights the next ones you're actually ready for — feeding your planner and dashboard.

How to choose your next quest

The list gives you a safe default order. When you want to choose deliberately, weigh these:

  • What have you already completed?

Your finished quests decide which are unlocked next — the roadmap above marks what you're ready for once signed in.

  • What do you want to unlock?

Working toward a boss, a teleport or a skilling method? Jump to the quest that opens it, even out of order.

  • Do you meet the requirements?

Each quest page shows its prerequisite quests and known skill gates, so you know whether to start now or train first.

  • Are nearby quests worth batching?

Completing one quest often makes several others available — clear a cluster while you're in the area.

  • Does it serve a bossing or skilling goal?

Let your account goals drive the choice: a quest that removes a bottleneck beats one that just adds quest points.

  • Does it fit your account stage?

Early accounts benefit most from access and transport; later accounts chase the big combat and endgame unlocks.

Quest progression milestones

What you're generally trying to accomplish as you move through the order:

Early progression

Knock out short novice quests for early XP and account access. Many are fast and remove requirements that would otherwise block you later.

Transport & convenience

Quests that grant teleports and shortcuts have outsized value — they save time on every trip afterwards. Examples like Plague City and Lunar Diplomacy unlock travel you'll lean on for the rest of the account.

Building toward major chains

Longer quest lines open large progression paths. Dragon Slayer I and the Fremennik and desert chains gate a lot of mid-game content, so clearing them early pays off repeatedly.

Mid-game & endgame unlocks

Major quests such as Desert Treasure I and Monkey Madness I unlock strong combat, skilling and money options — and much endgame content has quest prerequisites, so clearing chains early prevents bottlenecks later.

Quest rewards that actually matter

Why you should care about a quest usually comes down to what it opens up. ScapePath models these unlocks directly from its content graph:

Transportation

4 quests

Teleports and shortcuts that pay off every trip — see Desert Treasure I. Compare destinations on the teleports hub.

Boss access

12 quests

Fights you can't start without the quest, like Priest in Peril's gateway to Morytania. Browse them on the bossing hub.

Skilling unlocks

13 quests

New methods and access — Druidic Ritual opens Herblore entirely. See the skilling guides.

Equipment

10 quests

Gear locked behind a quest, such as the rewards from The Fremennik Isles. Plan upgrades on the gear hub.

Money & convenience

6 quests

Methods and passive income like Throne of Miscellania. Ranked on the money makers hub.

XP & area access

Many quests hand large lamps or area unlocks that skip hours of early training — often the fastest way past a low-level grind. Each quest's page lists what it grants.

Questing and the ScapePath progression loop

Quests rarely stand alone. A quest unlocks a skill or method, that level opens up gear or a money maker, that gear enables a boss, and that boss drops an upgrade toward raids. ScapePath follows those edges so a single quest becomes a visible step in a much larger plan.

  • See what a quest unlocks

Each quest links straight to the bosses, gear and skills it opens up.

  • Plan your whole account

The planner weighs quests against everything else your account could do next.

  • Track it once, use it everywhere

Quest completion feeds your dashboard recommendations, so ScapePath always knows what you've done.
