Cookie Policy
ScapePath uses only a small set of cookies and browser storage. This page lists exactly what they are and what each one is for.

What this covers
“Cookies” are small files a site stores in your browser; related technologies like local storage keep small values on your device in a similar way. ScapePath keeps its use of both to a minimum. Most of the site is public and readable with none of them.
What ScapePath uses
| Category | What it does | Set by | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in and your session secure. Only present when you have an account and are logged in. | Supabase (first-party session cookies) | Cookie |
| Preferences | Remembers your light/dark theme and an anonymous planner draft. Stays on your device. | ScapePath (your browser's local storage) | Local storage |
| Analytics | Counts page views and general device/browser type in aggregate. No cookies, and no tracking across other sites. | Vercel Analytics | Cookieless |
| Advertising | Serving and measuring ads. Not currently active — see below. | Google AdSense (only once active) | Cookie (when active) |
Advertising cookies are not active yet
ScapePath intends to show advertising through Google AdSense, but approval is still pending and no ads — and no advertising cookies — are being served today. When advertising becomes active, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent, through Google’s certified consent management, before any personalized advertising cookies are used. We will update this page and its date at that time.
Managing cookies and storage
- Every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage in its settings.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working; the rest of the public site will still function.
- Clearing preference storage simply resets your theme and any anonymous planner draft.
- Once advertising is active, you can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings.
