   Survive the specials

   Yama's Meteor Strike can hit ~162 and Shadow Stomp ~80 — learn their telegraphs and reposition to avoid lethal hits.

2. 2

   Adapt to your contract

   Contracts modify the fight (including solo-only restrictions and higher HP) — bring gear suited to the contract you accepted.

• Meteor Strike

  A meteor drops on a 5x5 area around you — move at least two tiles clear or it deals lethal damage.

• Prayer flicking + glyphs

  He alternates melee, magic and ranged each attack — flick the matching overhead, and stand on the matching floor glyph to gain a short immunity that negates specials.

• Void flares

  Orbs spawn and, left about 15 seconds, explode and heal Yama — destroy them quickly (a Purging staff with Dark demonbane is ideal).

• Shadow Stomp & fire streaks

  Shadow Stomp roots you for a hit unless you're on a shadow glyph, and moving fire streaks bind and damage you — keep moving through them without pausing.
