Why train Smithing?

Smithing turns ore into bars and equipment, and its money-making methods — cannonballs especially — mean it can pay you while you train.

ScapePath separates Smithing's XP methods from its money methods, because the fastest XP (Blast Furnace) runs at a small cost while the profitable route (cannonballs) is slow. Pick based on whether you want levels or gp.

40 opens Blast Furnace gold bars for fast XP, 85 covers runite bars and most equipment, and 99 lets you smith anything, including profitable F2P rune platebodies. Decide your priority before you commit — the two goals pull in opposite directions.
