How the Smithing calculator works
XP per action and resource counts use the exact OSRS experience table, so they're precise. XP/hr and time are conservative experienced-player estimates that vary with gear, efficiency and setup. Where a method consumes a buyable item, cost uses the live Grand Exchange price. Sign in with a linked account and your current Smithing level fills in automatically.

Smithing calculator FAQ
- How does the Smithing calculator work?
- Enter your current Smithing level (or exact XP) and a target level. The calculator uses the OSRS experience table to work out the XP remaining, then ranks the practical training methods you can use at your level — with the resources, time and cost for each.
- Can I use the calculator with my ScapePath account?
- Yes. Sign in with a linked account and your current Smithing level and XP fill in automatically from your public Hiscores, so you don't have to type them. You can still override the inputs, and the calculator works fully without an account.
- How is XP remaining calculated?
- It's the difference between the total XP for your target level and your current XP, using the exact OSRS experience table. If you enter a level rather than XP, the calculator assumes the minimum XP for that level.
- What does reaching a Smithing milestone unlock?
- Set your target level and the calculator shows what that level opens up — the quests, bosses, gear or methods tied to it in ScapePath's data — so you can see what you're actually working toward, not just a number.
