Strategy

  1. 1

    Bring sustain and slash

Vardorvis is weakest to slash and chips you steadily — bring a Soulreaper axe or Osmumten's fang, plus lifesteal (Amulet of blood fury) so long trips stay healthy. Defence-drain weapons don't work here.

  2. 2

Learn one mechanic at a time

The fight layers several dodges at once. Get comfortable with the axes, then the spikes, then the strangle before pushing kill speed.

Key mechanics

What can kill you at Vardorvis, and what to do about it. For the full breakdown, see the OSRS Wiki link below.

  • Swinging axes

Tendrils lift Vardorvis's axes and fling them across the arena — run two tiles diagonally to a clear tile to dodge the volley.

  • Darting spikes

He darts around leaving ground cracks that hit up to ~25 and heal him — keep moving so the spikes land on empty tiles, not yours.

  • Strangle

Tendrils entangle you and spores appear — destroy the spores within a few ticks or take a heavy hit.

  • Head gaze

Below ~570 HP he launches projectiles — pray Protect from Missiles or they drain your prayer.

  • Scaling stats

His Defence falls but his damage rises as his HP drops, so expect harder hits (max ~43) near the end — don't get greedy on the last few percent.

These figures are an independent-roll estimate: they treat every kill as a separate roll at the listed rate ( 1 − (1 − p)KC). Real drops can involve guaranteed rolls, point/invocation scaling or completion rewards, so the true odds may differ. A probability is never a guarantee — even far above 90%, the drop is never owed to you. Drops without a fixed 1/Nrate show “—”.
