Requirements

How it works

1. Finish Throne of Miscellania. Royal Trouble is strongly recommended: it raises your workers from 10 to 15, makes them 50% more productive, and lifts the daily wage cap from 50,000 to 75,000 coins.
2. Put coins in the coffer with Advisor Ghrim, on the first floor of the castle on the west side of Miscellania. Workers are paid 10% of the coffer each day up to the cap, so keep at least 500,000 in it (750,000 after Royal Trouble) to pay the full wage.
3. Assign your workers with Ghrim. Each job takes at most 10. The Wiki's money guide uses 10 on mining and 5 on herbs after Royal Trouble; check current prices, since the best split changes with them.
4. Keep approval up. It drops 2.5% a day (1% after Royal Trouble) and lower approval means less loot. Raise it by helping the islanders, for example raking flax (10 Farming), raking the herb patch (35 Herblore) or cutting maples (45 Woodcutting), with a rake and an axe. It only counts when they say "Thanks!".
5. Resources are gathered and the wage is paid at midnight UTC. Collect them from Ghrim whenever you visit; the Lunar spell Astral Contact can also collect.
6. If you don't visit the islands for 30 days, gathering and payments pause until you come back.
7. The per-day figure is the Wiki's, counting the wage as a cost and assuming you collect and top up approval every day.
