Skill calculator
OSRS Cooking Calculator
Enter your current and target Cooking level to see exactly how much XP you need and the best practical ways to train it at your level — with resources, time and live cost.
Cooking is one of the fastest skills in the game and, for most accounts, a support skill rather than a money maker — you train it to stop burning food, to clear quest and Cooking Guild requirements, and to prepare your own supplies for bossing. This calculator turns a target level into the exact number of items you need to cook and a realistic estimate of how long it takes.

XP per action and resource counts are exact. XP/hr and time are conservative experienced-player estimates that vary with gear, efficiency and setup. Cost uses live Grand Exchange prices where an item is consumed per action; other gp figures are estimates.

How the Cooking calculator works
Resource counts use the exact per-cook XP, so they're precise. They assume you're cooking food you rarely burn at your level (the right food, or with the Cooking gauntlet), so training below your no-burn level will need extra raw stock. Time is a conservative continuous-cooking estimate at a range or fire.

Example uses
- Planning a push to 99 on karambwans or wines? Set the method and your current level to see the exact quantity to buy in one Grand Exchange trip.
- Only need a quest or Cooking Guild level? Enter your goal to see how little food it actually takes — often far less than a full grind.
Cooking calculator FAQ
- Does the calculator account for burning food?
- No — it assumes you cook food you rarely burn at your level. If you train below your no-burn level you'll need more raw food than the count shown.
- What's the fastest way to 99 Cooking?
- Wines and karambwans are the usual answers depending on budget and effort. Set the method in the calculator to see the resource count and time for each.
- Is Cooking profitable?
- Usually somewhere between break-even and a small loss, so treat it as a fast support skill rather than a way to make gp.
