Why do Wintertodt?

  • Comfortably the best Firemaking XP in the game, and it starts at level 50.
  • The Pyromancer outfit boosts Firemaking XP and is a common crate reward.
  • Crates also hand out logs, herbs, seeds and the occasional Tome of fire and pet.

How it works

Chop bruma roots, optionally fletch them into kindling, and feed braziers to burn the Wintertodt down while keeping the pyromancers healed. Contributing enough earns points and a reward crate each time the boss is subdued.

Crates include herbs, seeds and logs that offset training costs elsewhere.

Tips & common mistakes

  • Don't let the Wintertodt's HP hit zero while your brazier is unlit — relight fast to keep scoring points.
  • Fletching roots into kindling gives more points per action but is slower overall XP; pick based on your goal.
  • Keep a pyromancer alive near you and heal them; dead pyromancers cost the whole group points.

Who should do this?

Anyone training Firemaking from 50 — it's the default method and a good early source of supplies.
